From 1972, including three killer JB's, the funkiest of them In The Middle. Seventies issue with blue Liberty labels: the vinyl is perfect; the sleeve excellent, still wrapped, with a cut-corner top-right.

Donald Byrd Royal Flush
The one-off is a Japanese issue, Toshiba-EMI.

Donald Byrd Free Form
At his peak, with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock in 1961. Pentecostal Feeling and the rest. Zinging outward-bound hard-bop. LP from Doxy.

Donald Byrd Slow Drag
Great hard bop, passing in 1967 from bluesy to modal, with Cedar Walton, Billy Higgins and the terrific Sonny Red. The long title track is sultry and grooving; and there's a version of the dancer Book's Bossa.
